Recent years have been rife with tech layoffs under the guise of AI and RTO, and the bandwagons are still going strong.

When firms filed taxes in 2022, they were hit hard. Their deductions shrank, and tax bills jumped. Funding had already dried up, borrowing costs climbed, and cash ran low.

So, what got cut first?

It was not cloud storage or chai budgets. It was you, the humans. Layoffs became the only option for survival.
